Hi Club Xer's. While you get ready to watch the World Cup finals please consider a benefit we're wanting to see you at next Saturday afternoon. Here's the story:
This past Spring season Club X Xtreme was gearing up to play in the Marietta Soccer Classic in May. Just days before our team was to travel and play our Assistant Coach's family was struck with a near fatal tragedy! Their young son was struck by an SUV and was drug 60 feet before the vehicle stopped. Although it was very rough on our assistant along with his daughter they proceeded to join us in Marietta for the tournament. Such awesome dedication for our team and club!!! While his wife and Konner had to stay back due to him needing to stay a while in the hospital they cheered us on with much enthusiasm! Our team wore special ribbons in their hair (goals for Konner bows) that showed their support.
There will be a benefit Saturday July 11th at Willies Sports Bar and Grill from 1-4 in Konner name.
Because Konner is still wheelchair bound his mom is unable to work still and all medical bills are stacking against them. I thought it would be awesome if some or any of the club would like to show for the benefit and show their support. Team Club X Xtreme will be there and we'd like to invite others from the club to join us!
Please wear your Club X gear. It will be kid friendly with a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, face painting, games, t-shirts and more. And of course wings and food with great company for a great cause!
Emily Rinehart from our U18 Club X United girls team made the Regional pool selection for the Olympic Development Program and will be traveling to Illinois. Wish her luck!
Great story from Coach Early from Our Club X Cosmos Team:
Earlier this year I sent out a request for used soccer equipment to the club with the hope of making a difference. Tuesday I passed what we gathered to a representative who will be sending this stuff to the orphanage in Benin, Africa.
We were able to acquire an awesome amount of items which you see in the photos. 33 pairs of cleats and socks, 10 balls, a big box of Club X Tornado tournament t-shirts and ref jerseys. The list goes on.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who donated and spread the word for their support. Even though these kids are a world away we all are making a difference by giving a few things we didn't use. As a smaller club, things like this make us stronger. It is not about the name it is about the quality of the Club. This is another reason I am proud to be a part of Club X.
